Channel is not overselling
The suggestion that the channel is overselling to schools is unhelpful (CRN, Channel gives education a raw deal, 28 February 2011). I often see channel partners and vendors supply schools with more products and services than were paid for.
Schools require a range of equipment. Entry-level wireless used in the wrong places can be risky, a point that has been reinforced in our conversations with schools and local authorities recently.
Safety, security and the consequences of not having the right technology were the key concerns discussed – not how to cut costs. Certainly we will continue to supply wireless to schools according to their needs, through experienced and talented resellers.
